Ingredients

FOR THE CHICKEN WINGS

  • chicken wings — 1 pound
  • olive oil — 2 tablespoons
  • garlic powder — 1 teaspoon
  • paprika — ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Ground black pepper (to taste)

FOR THE HONEY BUFFALO SAUCE

  • buffalo sauce — ¼ cup
  • honey — 2 tablespoons
  • Worcestershire sauce — 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (approximately 204°C).

  2. Step 2: Season the Chicken Wings

In a medium bowl, add the chicken wings and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and ground black pepper until evenly coated.

  3. Step 3: Air Fry the Wings

Arrange the wings in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8 minutes at 400°F (approximately 204°C).

  4. Step 4: Flip and Finish Cooking

Flip the wings and continue cooking for at least 8 minutes, or until crispy on the outside and the center reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

  5. Step 5: Prepare the Honey Buffalo Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together the buffalo sauce, honey, and Worcestershire sauce until combined.

  6. Step 6: Glaze and Serve

Brush the honey buffalo sauce over the hot wings and serve immediately.

Tips for Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings

  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels before seasoning to help them crisp up in the air fryer.
  • Arrange the wings in a single layer with space between them so hot air can circulate evenly.
  • Flip the wings halfway through cooking to help both sides brown and crisp.
  • Check the thickest part of the chicken with a food thermometer and ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Whisk the buffalo sauce, honey, and Worcestershire sauce thoroughly to create a smooth, balanced glaze.
  • Brush the honey buffalo sauce onto the wings just before serving to help preserve their crispy texture.
  • Adjust the amount of honey to make the sauce sweeter or add more buffalo sauce for extra heat.
  • Serve immediately for the best combination of crispy skin and tender, juicy chicken.
